Dream Work

In the Gestalt approach to dreams we start with the premise that every dream is about you.

  1. The dream is an existential statement of your existence. “I am never happy with my efforts”

  2. You ask the client to report the dream in the present tense. As if it is happening now. This makes the experience more vivid.

  3. We also assume that each person, event, or aspect of a dream reflects a part of the person. We explore all aspects of the dream, animate and inanimate, then work towards integration.
