Clay Field Therapy
Clay Field Therapy
The hands can often solve what the intellect has been struggling with; Carl Jung.
Clay Field therapy is a type of “perfect parent” where the clay fulfills the needs of the person in the therapeutic setting.
“ If you touch, you are touched.” ~ Barbara Oldfield. This is the promise of Clayfield. It is a deep process that delights the senses and connects you to your story and beyond. An education for the senses
The Clay Field experience is a powerful trauma therapy that is primarily sensory motor in nature. The box or container holds approx 15 kilos of clay and represents your world. The bowl of warm water is symbolic of the womb or safe space. When using a combination of pushing, pulling, kneading, poking and smoothing movement in the Clay Field you make contact with your biographical history. The water is used to accompany and provide a respite or rest during the session. Profound changes are experienced during the Clay Field especially if there has been an interrupted attachment style and a history of trauma.
